The research carried out at the "Chair of Computational Chemical Physics on the Nanoscale" focuses on the application of frontier simulation methods to the understanding of challenging problems in the physics and chemistry of nano-scale materials and biomolecular systems.

Regarding applications: special attention is given to fundamental aspects of the science underlying industrial processes for CO2 capture and carbon-based technology. Recently we have started also to investigate the physical properties of inorganic photovoltaic materials, and in particular the factors limiting the conversion efficiency in CdTe-based solar cells.

Professor Wanda Andreoni has retired and the Chair has ceased all activities in March 2015.
